The Tallit, The Katan, and Selecting a Size

TALLIT / PRAYER SHAWL

What is Tallit?

The tallit is a prayer shawl worn during morning services. Married men have to wear the tallit, but men over the age of Bar Mitzvah wear them as well.

The Tallit is often used to drape the Chuppah (the marriage canopy).

The Tallit is also used as a burial shroud.

The Tallit prayer in English: "Blessed are You, O Eternal our God, Ruler of the universe, Who has sanctified us with your commandments, and commanded us to wrap ourselves in the fringed garment."
